Philipe Model Paris presents us with a sustainable manifesto in the form of a new pair of modern, minimalistic shoes. These urban sneakers go by the name of « Lyon », the French city of innovation which recently transformed to house an industrial area of sustainable design called Les Confluences.
The name of this pair sneakers is a direct interpretation of this transformation, forecasting a will to reuse, innovate, and rethink our clothes and their placement in the environment.
This pair was design by Philipe Model in collaboration with the Italian entreprise ACBC (Anything Can Be Changed), specialising in the production of sustainable products.
The materials used for the confection of the sneaker are sourced eco-consciously and are recycled or biologically produced, with innovative features such as a bio skin (an alternative to leather with a 60% of bio-based content derived from agriculture waste from the corn industry) or Reptilia, a textile of 100% recycled polyester fabric derived from recycled plastic bottles, whose production guarantees a reduction in CO2 emissions of 75%.
The Lyon model is modern, and adapted to an urban lifestyle. An antique white base with different accent colours makes them adaptable to a diverse audience.
