With the new exhibition “Unearthed” by New York-based artist Daniel Arsham, König Galerie Berlin is presenting his first solo exhibition in Berlin. In the flair of a modern antiquity, a number of different sculptures are presented, as well as three monumental paintings. Reproductions, carefully selected by Arsham himself, reinterpreted in in his unique artistic language.
The exhibition takes another look at the personalities known to us from antiquity, such as Caesar, Apollo or Venus, which are only shown broken, eroded or even decayed. Daniel Arsham, best known for reinterpreting iconic objects or figures and putting them in a fictional, futuristic context, is not moving into a distant future this time, but thousands of years back to ancient times. The antiquity that Arsham presents to us here promises knowledge for future, and present.
The exhibition runs until October 4, 2021 at St. Agnes.
