Numéro Berlin’s weekly collection of the most exciting news about fashion, music, and simply everything that is on our radar. And here is why it should be on yours as well!

Powerful femininity and joyful irreverence represent the ideological symbols of upcoming spring/summer Fendi collection. Illustrations by visionary fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez act as the starting point for this collection which draws upon elegant abstractions and figurative drawings. His gestural brushstrokes appear across cream kaftans and silken shirting; his drawings translated into intarsia leathers, intricately engineered lace and shimmering jacquards. FENDI’s iconic bags become canvases both
for his work and the renowned savoir-faire of the house’s ateliers: a Baguette tapestry-woven into a rainbow; a Peekaboo transformed into a graphic artwork. Lilies adapted from Lopez’s illustrative motifs become enamel hair accessories.

AREA Collection 02 Runway
For this collection AREA showcases its ability to expand textural universes as well as pushing dressmaking skills. Taking as a starting point the role of the showgirl, feathers construct a soft armor wrapping the body. To further explore the concept of soft armor AREA translated metal workmanship into gilded feathers by moulding and individually cutting it into fine feather like elements, subsequently crafted like fine jewelry to replicate the trembling movement of feathers and finished with faceted crystal stones. Shape exploration follows an abstract yet modern road, warping the perception of what a classic gown is. Curvy bulbous shapes develop into asymmetric hip bumps and busts executed through structure & construction.

Disruptive, sexy, fluid, fun – this is Diesel for Fall/Winter 2022, this is Diesel forever. Creative director Glenn Martens presents his first catwalk show for the brand that unleashes the Diesel world: denim, experimentation, rebellion, play. There are four chapters to the collection – denim; utility; pop and artisanal. Design themes run throughout, like the raw attitude of utilitarian belts, the sexuality of hook-and-eye, the play of trompe l’oeil and the energy of asymmetry. Materials clash and contrast, textures are pumped up, every look has freedom and control.

7 For All Mankind // SS22 Campaign feat. Cara Delevingne
