Paris fashion week 2022 got us hooked- from show stopping haute couture pieces to street style finds – it was definitely one to remember.
Among many, our attention has been caught by Korean brand SOLID HOMME. Launched by South Korean designer Woo Young Mi in 1988, the label has had a fundamental role in shaping menswear fashion in Korea and in the past years, has entered the European fashion scene as well. Indeed, in the last decade South Korea has steadily established among the global pop and fashion cultures as an extremely productive creative hub. From Netflix shows to K-Pop stars to skincare hacks, South Korea continues delivering in all artistic fields- including fashion.
With a coherent aesthetic code based on quality textiles and minimal design, Madame Woo delivers an essential collection focused on meticulous tailoring and contemporary shapes. Blurring the lines between work and play, SOLID HOMME’s SS22 balances indoor comfort and outdoor practicality ensuring maximal functionality- both in the office or at home. Domestic life takes a luxurious turn with cashmere drenched tracksuits and knitted wool hoods. Winter suddenly seems all less hostile with oversized sartorial suits, fluffy puffers and parkas- designed to protect from the toughest weather- but with style. Young Mi once again demonstrates her wide spanning knowledge on textiles, utilising a wide range of materials from soft corduroy to slick leather which results in the creation of a dialogue between past and present trends.
“Athleisure” would be the most accurate term to define Madame’s Woo vision on the brand, where elements of classic tailoring meet athletic functionality, ultimately leading the way in the sport-luxe arena.
