Diesel and its Creative Director Glenn Martens recreated the Fall Winter 2022 show yesterday, June 9thm at the Tokyo Big Sight – International Exhibition Center.

Four collection chapters and an opulent set featuring XXL inflatable characters. The Tokyo show honored the strong connection between Diesel and the Japanese market, as well as its own spotlight in the current fashion scene.
61 looks were worn by established faces in the modeling scene as well as local key talents like actress Kiko Mizuhara, YouTuber Kemio, model and actor Shuzo Ohira, model and artist Lauren Tsai, model UTA and Rina Fukushi, and fashion influencer Yamato.
Six capsule outfits were reimagined as new and presented in a complete head-to-toe Diesel red color scheme, enhancing the label’s fun, sexy and fluid DNA once again.

Fall/Winter 2022 is can be roughly divided into Denim, Utility, Pop, and Artisanal. The design leitmotifs connect with one another to result in the signature Glenn Martens-Diesel look: raw workwear belts meet the sexiness of hook-and-eye closures, the playfulness of trompe l’oeil elements featuring the energy of asymmetries. Materials clash, textures harmonically intertwine, and every silhouette balances freedom with control. Denim, nearly destroyed at the waist looks like it’s “hanging on” by a thread. Cropped indigo tank top is held by a combination of belts, simultaneously serving as a skirt. Most of the denim pieces in the collection are from Diesel Library, the brand´ s responsibility-focused line. Dresses are cut from a coated knit with a “D” logo above the chest and are setting a cheeky statement. Artisanal “peel-off” jersey pieces are mimicking concert flyers stripped off a wall. Organza is also upcycled and smocked into light-as-air minidresses, finished with an open décolletage.
