UPCYCLED BY MIU MIU
The Upcycled by MIU MIU initiative continues with a limited edition of leather jackets, specially created and shown on the runway for the Fall/Winter 2022 season. No more than 50 jackets will ever be produced . Each has been carefully sourced from vintage markets across the world, then reworked and refashioned by Miu Miu and finished in the atelier by hand. The iconic silhouette if this garment, which has long been associated with male subculture and rebel youth, is connected with feminine, twenties-inspired collars in contrasting materials. As expressive as the Miu Miu name and rooted in the tropics of the women’s wardrobe, is the seemingly contradictory presence of stylized flowers, precious crystal, python print leather and satin ribbons. The campaign plays with our ideas of the male perfectionist even further. Accompanied by shiny vintage motorcycles, gleaming metal and shimmering metal and inky rubber shot in an anonymous city setting, featuring actors and models Ever Anderson, Esther McGregor and Mame Bineta Sane. Where did the characters going? And what will they do when they get there?

LACOSTE X CIVILIST
Lacoste presents the exclusive Capsule collection with Civilist Berlin. Lacoste has worked with the berlin skating brand for creating a collection that’s youthful and stands for the berlin subculture. The 11-piece unisex collection consists of polos, T-shirts, crewnecks, jackets and various accessories. Typical Lacoste Heritage materials – such as piqué cotton – find their place in the pieces and, in combination with the muted colors and both subtle and bold designs, form the basis for the pieces. In addition to a version of the iconic crocodile specially created by Civilist, a total of around 22,000 small crocodiles were processed with great attention to detail. All pictures were taken by Steffen Gap with Civilists crew & team riders in Berlin. The final look of the pictures was individualized afterwards by multiple printing and scanning of the prints. Civilist was founded in 2009 as a skateshop in Berlin-Mitte and has since been a meeting place and center for skaters, friends and creatives from all over the world. The Lacoste x Civilist collection will be available exclusively at the Lacoste Concept Store and Civilist starting Sept. 10, 2022.
TAN MU’S DAWN X PERES PROJECTS
Peres Projects is pleased to present DAWN, Tan Mu’s second solo exhibition at Peres Projects and first at the Berlin gallery. In DAWN, the subjects of Tan Mu’s compositions cover an enormous range of topics-from the embryo, the privacy stamp, and the logic circuit to the solar farm, the atomic bomb, and the earth itself-and draw our attention to important cultural markers of our time. The artist’s primary sources are both archival and contemporary, viewing life through the lens of humanity’s evolutionary history and aspirations. She explores cycles and the pursuit of incremental developments in people’s lives. Like the cell biologist who visualizes the most complex parts of the body, DAWN keeps up with the pace of the humanities – always striving, pushing, and reaching into the unknown. Starting from the origin of human life, Embryo (2022) witnesses the eye’s capabilities enhanced by technologies. Peek (2021) recreates the blurry black-and-white photograph, drawing on the same sense of wonder. Trinity Testing (2020) expresses the larger context of the Cold War, in Silicon (2021) and Logic Circuit (2022), Tan Mu presents the design and mechanics of core parts of these devices and how they are constructed, alluding to the significant impact elemental silicon has had in the contemporary world. Sunset (2021) is even more personal; the view from her studio in New York City offers us a glimpse into her daily routine, a busy day fading into night, the stillness as the world turns back into dawn.
