MAX MARA – SEPTM FLORES
Max Mara unveils a collection that combines the straightforward and sophisticated style of the 1900s with contemporary elements. The result is a modern aesthetic featuring gigot sleeves, skirts that graze the ankles, capes that reach the elbow, and elegant blouses paired with bow ties. Alongside these pieces, the collection introduces billowing tunics in both long and short variations. These tunics incorporate black and ivory braids, pom poms, tassels, and studs, drawing inspiration from traditional folk motifs. To create a strikingly modern look, Max Mara takes inspiration from folk blouses and reimagines them using sleek, linear fabrics, removing any unnecessary embellishments.

DAMIEN HIRST TO STAGE FIRST MAJOR SURVEY EXHIBITION IN GERMANY
The Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art (MUCA) is set to host a significant survey exhibition showcasing Damien Hirst’s renowned artworks. This exhibition, titled “The Weight of Things,” marks Hirst’s first presentation in Germany and will commence on October 26, 2023. Spanning a period of 40 years, the exhibition will feature over 40 works, encompassing installations, sculptures, and paintings. Notably, some of these pieces have never been publicly displayed before. Among the highlighted series are Hirst’s iconic creations such as the formaldehyde sculptures of the Natural History series, Spin Paintings, Medicine Cabinets, Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable, Cherry Blossoms, as well as spot and butterfly paintings.

RIMOWA CELEBRATES ITS 125TH ANNIVERSARY IN TOKYO
As the German Maison RIMOWA celebrates its 125th anniversary, the first step of its touring exhibition “Seit 1898” will be held in Japan. Started in Tokyo on 8 June, the exhibition takes the form of a retrospective that traces RIMOWA’s enduring heritage since its foundation in Cologne in 1898, presenting a series of cases from its archives and from friends of the brand, as well as various works of art. Each showcase tells the story of the materials, craftsmanship, people and places that define the Maison’s identity.

DAILY PAPER PREMIERS THE CIMBIA SHIELD BAG

RIMOWA DESIGN PRICE
The inaugural edition of the Rimowa Design Prize, which commenced in October 2022, has concluded with great success. In a ceremony held in Berlin, the German fashion house celebrated the student finalists and awarded them with prizes. The esteemed jury, with the support of Rimowa’s CEO Hugues Bonnet-Masimbert and Chairman Alexandre Arnault, deliberated and selected seven winners. Noa Grgic from ABK Stuttgart emerged as the recipient of the first-place award under the mentorship of designer Gesa Hansen. Grgic’s project centered around physical mobility and body positivity, resulting in the development of the A.B.P app. This online store specializes in prosthetic accessories, providing a platform to showcase innovative and creative projects in this field.

HOMMAGE Á LA FRANCE
The Weekend Max Mara Pasticcino Bag continues to impress as it embarks on a world tour, with its latest stop being in France. As part of this special project that transcends seasons, the new Pasticcino Bag Hommage à la France pays tribute to the country’s exceptional craftsmanship and unique skills. Following its successful debut edition that honored Venice’s prestigious textiles and glass-making tradition, the Pasticcino Bag Hommage à la France celebrates the nation’s storied heritage in lace-making and exquisite ceramics.

MIU MIU L’ÉTÉ COLLECTION

Tourist has released its official community launch event and application announcement in Berlin with an immersive experience in one of the rare, remaining Ufos in Berlin. The event was followed by a 4D listening experience at Monom, a pioneering experimental performance studio in Berlin. The meditative sound of galaxy-reaching was curated by sound designers, Spekki Webu and Harald Uunk. The sound spatialisation and serene light design was mastered by founders of artistic platform, HLXR, Timur Novikov, Maximilian Fried The Martian.The un-earthly set design was mastered by Tatiana Makrinova and the Zenomorph chair designed by the art collective ‘Sucuk and Bratwurst was the centerpiece of the UFO. The event was powered by Electronic Beats.

PERES PROJECTS PRESENTS: MAK2 ‘LOVE POOL’
Peres Projects presents the first solo exhibition of HongKong born artist Mak2 in their Berlin gallery. The focus is on pixelated lovers staring into the void at the edge of the pool, completely disillusioned with their surroundings, surrounded by a kind of absurd humor, symbolizing a kind of reflection of the digital terrain of dating apps.
The exhibition runs from March 24 to April 21, 2023 at Peres projects in Karl-Marx-Allee 82 in 10243 Berlin.

MAX MARA ANNOUNCES DOMINIQUE WHITE AS THE WINNER OF THE 9TH MAX MARA DESIGN PRIZE
The Max Mara Design Prize was primarily created to support female-identifying artists at a crucial stage in their careers. This year’s title was claimed by Dominique White, making her the 9th recipient of the prize. With her win, the artist will receive a six-month customized residency in Italy, tailored to her own plans for personal growth, culminating in a major solo exhibition in 2024, opening at Whitechapel Gallery and exhibited continuously at Collezione Maramotti in Reggio Emilia in Italy.
White was selected by a jury consisting of, among others, Luigi Maramotti, CEO of Max Mara Group Srl, Gilane Tawadros, director of the Whitechapel Gallery, and other art experts such as gallery owner Rozsa Farkas, artist Claudette Johnson, collector Maria Sukkar, among others.

BOTTEGA VENETA AND GAETANO PESCE PRESENT ‘VIENI A VEDERE’
With the task of creating a site-specific temporary artwork, Bottega Veneta turned to artist Gaetano Pesce and chose as exhibition space the location of the Bottega Veneta Show 2023. In this sense, the artist was once again given the creative freedom and confidence to enrich this time the Sore in Montenapoleone with a unique installation, entitled ‘Vieni a Vedere‘, which extends throughout the store.
The installation can be visited for one week, from April 15-22, 2023.
