WEEKEND MUSIC PT. 40: LISA FT. ROSALÍA “NEW WOMAN”
LISA, along with Rosalía, has released the highly-awaited single «New Woman» and the official music video. Rap, dancing, and sensual vocals combine in a Y2K-inspired setting.
It’s not surprising that the new track was released together with Rosalía. The singer is at the forefront of global popular music with her innovative musical fusions and distinctive style.
The new track, produced by Max Martin & ILYA, follows LISA‘s previous top single, «Rockstar». This song debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Ex. US Charts and #4 on the Billboard Global 200 Weekly. And the music video for «Rockstar» has racked up an impressive 143.5 million views to date and is #1 on the global YouTube weekly chart.
This time, Dave Meyers, a renowned director, worked on a «New woman» dynamic and full of visual transformations video.
Since the release of «Rockstar», LISA has been unstoppable. She received four nominations for the MTV Video Music Award last week, in the categories Best K-Pop, Best Editing, Best Choreography, and Best Art Direction for «Rockstar».
LISA has also been announced as a co-headliner for this year’s Global Citizen Festival on September 28th in New York City’s Central Park. This will be LISA’s first festival appearance as a solo artist. LISA joins previously announced headliners Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, and Rauw Alejandro. Global Citizen is the world’s leading international organization working to end extreme poverty.
Being a fashion icon, LISA has just appeared on the cover of the September ELLE Magazine issue. And Louis Vuitton announced her as the House’s newest ambassador.
But that’s not all. Lisa will make her debut as an actress in the upcoming third season of the HBO original series «White Lotus».
