ALPHA INDUSTRIES X ALANUI COLLAB
The iconic MA-1 bomber jacket gets a fresh update from the fashion brand Alanui. Alanui means “large path” in the Hawaiian language, and the passion for journeying and traveling is the brand’s core. The design of the new jacket collaboration mixes the military look of Alpha Industrie’s MA-1 bomber – first developed in 1949 for U.S. Air Force pilots – and Alanui’s artistry that originated a graphic-embellished lining, flamboyant and laser-cut nylon fringes on the back and sleeves. In dark blue or sage green available, the jacket is already on the market and brings fresh air to Alpha’s classic garments.
DR. MARTENS AND STÜSSY REVIVE THE 2295 BOOT
Dr. Martens has teamed up with California-based streetwear brand Stüssy to release two new editions of the 2295 boot, which was originally designed as a workwear shoe and is now reimagined as a modern boot for the colder seasons. The boot comes in two materials – sleek black Wanama leather and textured sand hairy suede. Steel-toe caps underneath the leather upper are reminiscent of the industrial roots. Dr. Martens’ signature yellow stitching and Stüssy’s “Workgear” patches as the only playful details keep this boot classy and plain. The collection dropped on Friday, December 13, and is available in select Stüssy Chapter Stores, Dr. Martens Stores, and online.
MIU MIU LAUNCHES THEIR TYRE SNEAKERS
Sportive ballerina shoes are everywhere – and we love them. Combining comfort with cuteness, the mixture of sneakers and ballerina footwear got people truly in awe and this shoe style is gaining more and more popularity with no end in sight. Now, Miu Miu launches within the SS25 Prelude Collection the Tyre sneakers, which come in two different styles: laced and as a comfy ballerina. The rubber grip soles with white detailing remind of a car tyre’s structure, which gave the sneakers their name, and the fusion of young, sportive elements and luxurious elegance embodies the typical Miu Miu style. The warm color palette for the laced sneaker includes loden (dark green), nube (soft grey), avorio (creamy white), and topazio (colorful yellow); for the ballerina model, just avorio and nube.
LEVI’S VINTAGE CLOTHING PAYS TRIBUTE TO BOB DYLAN
Levi’s Vintage Clothing has just unveiled its latest collection celebrating Bob Dylan’s sense of fashion, coinciding with the release of the movie “A Complete Unknown”, which chronicles the early years of musician and legend Bob Dylan. In the center of the film is Bob Dylan, played by Timothée Chalamet, finding his place in the music scene of 1960s New York. Levi’s collection is a collaboration with the movie’s costume designer Arianne Phillips and reproduces the musician’s wardrobe from decades ago. About the exploration process she said: “While researching costumes for the film, I kept noticing that Bob Dylan wore Levi’s consistently throughout his career, both on and off stage. So I worked with Paul O’Neill at Levi’s to help me source original Levi’s denim and produce the bootcut 501 jeans, as well as recreate the Super Slim Levi’s jeans that Dylan wore in ‘65,”
The Levi’s Vintage Clothing x A Complete Unknown collection includes the Levi’s Vintage Clothing 1955 501 jeans with a unique bootcut insert inspired by the modifications Dylan’s ex-girlfriend Suze Rotolo made to his jeans to wear above his boots. A leather buckle belt and a suede trucker jacket complete the limited-edition collection that will launch alongside the U.S. release of “A Complete Unknown” on December 25, with European availability following the film’s premiere in early 2025.
