COMBINING TRADITION AND MODERNITY: RETTERSPITZ NEW EYE SERUM
On pharmaceutical skincare and „the botox plant“
In a market that´s flooded by countless creams, lotions and peelings it´s easy to lose track of what to buy, how to know what is actually best for your body. Retterspitz is here to remind you: the family-owned brand combines traditional herbal knowledge with modern skincare for over 120 years.
It all started in 1895 in Nürnberg, where Margarete Retterspitz developed a herbal medicinal solution used in skincare but also for general healing. Expanded and improved through four different generations, the brand today sells skincare, scents, shower and bathing products alongside their medical products.
Their approach is unique in the sense that they successfully blend their traditional pharmaceutical knowledge with modern science in skincare. Their core principle is „Heal, Care, Feel Good“ which reflects in their products too. They specifically use the healing qualities of century-old plants: Thyme, horsetail or witch hazel and take from the rich oils of avocado and jojoba. The essential oils from mint or birch are also found in many of their products, to name just a few of their natural ingredients.
Retterspitz´ bottle design picks up on the typical brown glass sold in pharmacies centuries ago, and skilfully combines this with modern design elements.
Their newest launch is a delicate eye serum. Containing hyaluronic acid, it deeply hydrates the skin whilst Spilanthes acmella, also known as „the botox plant“ smoothes wrinkles. The serum has been tested and awarded with „very good“, is vegan and free of perfumes and suitable for all skin types.
The „Made in Germany“ brand opened their first own store in 2021 in their origin city Nürnberg, carefully designed by local interior designer Katja Reiter.
All current products are to be found there, in German pharmacies as well as in their webshop. Healing products are being shipped to Germany and Austria exclusively, beauty and lifestyle products are available Europe-wide.
