Re-Enchanting Villa Medici
The French Academy in Rome and Fendi doing an exclusive collaboration with the support of the Mobilier National, for the refurbishment of six historic Salons at Villa Medici including the majestic Grand Salon, offering a new décor that will encourage creativity and contemporary design. The Villa Medici is the result of a historical stratification that gives it a unique architectural and decorative identity. The design vision of Kim Jones, Fendi’s Artistic Director of Couture and Womenswear, and Silvia Venturini Fendi Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear has led to a metamorphosis that brings to the fore a union between contemporary design and heritage, making Villa Medici a place that perpetuates exceptional know-how while creating the heritage of tomorrow.

Kim Jones X ERL for Dior Men
We were already able to marvel at the work of the two designers in this year’s spring collection – and Kim Jones and guest designer Eli Russell Linnetz (ERL) have gone one better in the Spring 2023 Men collection. In the pleasant colours of the sea, the looks evoke freedom, carefreeness and the relaxed feeling you can only get on a good holiday. The interplay of Paris and Los Angeles reinterprets the codes of the Dior brand. For example, Californian influences give the saddle bag a new polish, which shines with details in metal and quartz. Jackets, shorts and sweatshirts shine in the motif of waves, while a piece in a creative newspaper look emerges every now and then. Combined with this are the oversized B9S sneakers in different variations. Accessories in gold, such as glasses, necklaces, bracelets and rings with branding, round off the look. The collection will be released on January 5th.

Dior’s Fall 2023 Collection: Dreamed up by Maria Grazia Chiuri
In the new Dior fall collection 2023 of Maria Grazia Chiuri she manages to talk exactly about this clever way to talk about feelings and emotions that can bring us together with a country and its culture. To explain thus the collaboration, the working relationships and the friendships that for many years have linked her to India and Karishma Swali, director of Chanakya Ateliers and Chanakya School of Craft in Mumbai. With the silhouettes of the collection, the creative director celebrates the visionary spirit of Christian Dior and his successors. A color block sequence dedicated to silk – greens, yellows, pinks and purples – in homage to Marc Bohan, shows up in the form of refined evening coats, sari-inspired straight skirts and traditional Indian cuts, as well as pants, small boleros, jackets and bras. A dialogue in which the communal dimension is expressed more than ever, in a polyphonic way and thanks to an exceptional savoir-faire that is evident in the embroidery in the collection.

Marni X Carhartt WIP
For the first time, the colorful and artistic world of Marni meets Carhartt WIP, creating an extraordinary expression on current everyday clothing, which have their origin in the utilitarian style. Ready-to-wear pieces and accessories for men and women includes the collection, as well as a new interpretation of Carhartt WIP. MARNI x CARHARTT WIP introduces new material combinations, all-over prints and generous volumes, combining the substantiality of authentic utility wear with the light-hearted approach of Marni. The collaboration between the two brands will be celebrated with a jam session at the Marni Montenapoleone flagship store during Milan Fashion Week, marking the beginning of Marni Jam, a multidisciplinary program that will spread worldwide. The collection will be available from January 14, 2023.

Loewe – SS23 Men’s Campaign shot by David Sims
With an increasingly fast sound in the campaign video, Loewe introduces the new SS23 men’s collection. David Sims shot the brand ambassadors Josh O ́Connor and Stéphane Bak in simple surrounding wearing the Loewe pieces and showing the new Amazona 15, the Puzzle and the Fold Shopper. Inspired by British portrait painter William Nicholson and American photographer George Platt Lynes, the campaign mixes light and distortion, reflections and surreality. In the process, unexpected scenes and associations emerge, just as Creative Director Jonathan Andersons loves to do in his work. His collection deals with the themes of staging and introspection between the fine lines of the human body, personality, and handmade objects. In pleasant, light summer colours next to sometimes extreme yellow and bright red, the clothes bring us anticipation of warmer times.

Daily Paper – SS23 Drop 1 “Under The Same Moon”
Traditional craftsmanship and eco-friendly materials go hand in hand in the new Daily Paper collection. The first drop promises timeless styles inspired by the founder’s homeland Morocco, influencing the brand’s vibe and culture. “Under The Same Moon” shows this exactly: Highlights are the two-piece henna-dyed set in allover print and the suits topped off with extravagant embroidery. The whole collection convinces with culture-specific, fine extras like prints, embroideries and purposefully used batik optics. Also included are signature bags in a white monogram print, shield quilted bags in Odessey blue and a fresh absinthe green mini handbag. In addition, some of the works of artist Yasmin Elnour influence the clothes, which are kept in mainly earthy green and beige tones. Daily Papers proves that creative collaborations in multidisciplinary categories can work successfully and how to get new visions through the influences of youth. The looks are available in UK and EMEA online via Daily Paper’s website and in-store across flagship stores in Amsterdam and London. The release of the first drop of the collection is on January 13th.
