#MINIMALISMUS: MANIFESTO BY ANNA-LENA KRAUSE

Psychology of ownership
Pursuit: the thrill of the chase
Do we still have agency?

Possessed/possessions
Do we own our possessions, or do our possessions own us?
‘The secret life of objects’

Belongings: What are the things that hold us in place – that keep us together?
Is it a person, a place, a thing, or a moment in time?

Intangible things: thoughts, ideas, concepts
‘A virtual club, in a virtual world, with virtual possessions’

Knick-Knacks: small, worthless objects

Sentimental value
Possessions as markers of identity. Is there a physical presence left in objects?
‘My parents valued it.’

If everything is an extension of ourselves,
shouldn’t we choose what we own more wisely?
What owns us? To be a body is to be tied to a tangible world.
Our body isn’t in space, it is off it.

Everything we own is a fire hazard
– is it worth taking the risk?

The battle between wanting more and needing less:
What if what we want isn’t what we need?
