ANDY WARHOL’S PERSONAL SIDE REVEALED IN NEW BERLIN EXHIBITION AT FOTOGRAFISKA BERLIN

Andy Warhol, the iconic Pop Art figure, is known for his silver wig and groundbreaking interpretations of everyday objects and cultural icons. His influence on generations of artists and pop culture is undeniable. Beyond his art, Warhol was a socialite who shaped the mythos of his studio, “The Factory,” through his exclusive and notorious gatherings. But who was he when the party ended?

A new exhibition, “After the Party,” at Fotografiska Berlin from May 17 to September 15, 2024, seeks to uncover this side of Warhol. Previously shown in New York, Stockholm, and Tallinn as “Andy Warhol: Photo Factory,” the exhibition has been reimagined for Berlin. It features a collection of Warhol’s photographs, capturing his yearning for connection and belonging. Visitors will see intimate, rarely seen photos, including Polaroids of celebrities, scenes of post-party disarray, and snapshots from Warhol’s retreat in Montauk.
