On Human Connection: Dolce & Gabbana’s F/W Campaign by Steven Meisel
D&G’s newest Fall/Winter campaign beautifully explores the chemistry of human connection: with all the passions and emotions intertwining when meeting each other.
And who would be better to capture these remarkable studies of body language than Steven Meisel? The American photographer has been VOGUE Italia’s trusted cover photographer for nearly three decades and has been actively involved in carving out D&G’s visual identity since 1989. He has given the Italian house that certain glamour, sensuality and, most importantly, personality.
For this F/W collection, the women’s looks are clearly defined by black, lace and tailoring, including a distinguished sensuality and devotion.
There is an undeniable Mediterranean spirit within the designs, preserving the warm memories of a Sicilian vacation to carry us through the winter ahead.
For menswear, this is expressed through sartoriality, knitwear and the reliability of denim.
The resulting campaign images are autonomous, yet complementary to each other, due to the emotional charge between difference, affinity and attraction.
With campaigns that intensify the articulation of the collection, rather than overshadowing it, D&G successfully reaffirms its unmistakable identity – not only for the season.
