A NEW TAKE ON CLASSICS

BIRKENSTOCK and ETRO present a new collaboration, first unveiled during ETRO’s Fall/Winter 2026 runway show in Milan. The collection reinterprets two BIRKENSTOCK classics, the Boston clog and Gizeh sandal, through ETRO’s signature codes, including Paisley motifs, intricate embroidery, long fringe, Western-inspired buckles and Pegasus-branded rivets. Premium suede and nappa leather meet BIRKENSTOCK’s signature cork-latex footbed, wrapped in tonal leather for added comfort and durability. The collection launches globally on September 10, 2026, via etro.com, birkenstock.com, selected boutiques and retail partners.

ANN DEMEULEMEESTER FW26: DRIFTING INTO ANOTHER LIFE

Wind-swept and dreamlike, Ann Demeulemeester’s FW26 campaign unfolds along the coast of Margate. Black velvet, loose shirting, silk scarves, ribbons and distressed shirts move with the breeze, blurring the line between clothing and landscape. The contrast between the stark seaside setting and the fluidity of the garments gives the imagery a quiet sense of tension and movement. Two elusive figures drift through the seaside town, detached from their surroundings and suspended somewhere between memory and reality. Shot by Nikolai von Bismarck, the imagery reflects Stefano Gallici’s poetic and rebellious vision for the house.

ALO INTRODUCES ITS NEW LEATHER BAG COLLECTION

ALO unveils its Fall 2026 Bag Collection with a new campaign shot by Steven Meisel, marking the photographer’s second collaboration with the Los Angeles-based brand. Returning to the campaign are Candice Swanepoel, Amelia Gray and Diane Sodré, joined for the first time by Ming Xi and Natasha Poly. The collection introduces new silhouettes including the Unwind Cinch, Leather Mesh versions of the Tranquility Tote and Voyage bags, as well as ALO’s first line of small leather goods. Handcrafted in Florence from responsibly sourced Italian leather, the pieces reflect the brand’s focus on craftsmanship and elevated functionality.

SILENCIO COMES TO BERLIN

Silencio marks its 15th anniversary with a temporary Berlin pop-up, officially opening on 30 October in the former Watergate nightclub on the banks of the Spree. The announcement followed a pre-opening evening on 9 September celebrating Maurizio Cattelan’s “Night” at Neue Nationalgalerie, featuring sets by Richie Hawtin, Ben Klock, Valentina Magaletti and Bashkka. Cattelan is also among the participants in REFERENCE FESTIVAL’s Paris edition this October, founded by Mumi Haiati and bringing together artists and cultural figures including Klaus Biesenbach, Florentina Holzinger and Dozie Kanu. Running through May 2027, the Paris-born cultural club brings music, cinema, fashion, design and visual art together. In Berlin, a different collective will take over the space each weekend, creating a changing programme of music, performance, moving image and visual art. The Berlin opening kicks off a year of celebrations, culminating in the release of a book in September 2027.

A DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW

What happens when we take a step back and look at our world differently? For Berlin Art Week 2026, The Foundry presents „The Overview Effect“, a group exhibition bringing together an international roster of designers whose work explores our relationship with nature, one another and the world around us. Designed by Chris Leeuw, the exhibition creates interconnected pathways between the works, encouraging visitors to experience them as a constellation of relationships rather than isolated objects. From experimental materials to immersive installations, the exhibition considers how design can shift our perspective and reconnect us with the living systems we are part of. Curated by Anna Carnick, the show is on view at The Foundry from September 5–13.
