MYKITA x 032c
MYKITA and 032c present MARFA, a collaboratively developed frame that interprets the 032c aesthetic with MYKITA’s patented high-tech material MYLON. The frame got unveiled at the 032c Readytowear SS24 presentation in Paris on June 23 and will be available in early 2024. The two brands internationally embody the independent spirit of Berlin – two progressive institutions that emerged from the urban creative scene of the early 2000s and have made a global impact with their unconventional approach and clear aesthetic vision. The jointly developed MARFA model translates the 032c aesthetic, an allegory for freedom, research and creativity, into a voluminous wraparound design with organic lines and a sculptural feel.

Y-3 SPRING/SUMMER 2024
The Y-3 Spring/Summer 2024 collection represents a continued collaboration between adidas and Yohji Yamamoto, aiming to push the boundaries of sportswear and explore the concept of Contra-Natural. This concept revolves around the juxtaposition between the organic and the synthetic, resulting in unexpected beauty. The collection embodies the inherent tension that lies at the core of the Y-3 brand, blending adidas’ sporting innovation with Yohji Yamamoto’s elegant and avant-garde aesthetic philosophy. By embracing the Contra-Natural theme, the collection showcases a fusion of contrasting elements. The organic aspect represents nature, fluidity, and the human form, while the synthetic aspect embodies technological advancements, structure, and futurism. Through the harmonious combination of these opposing forces, the collection creates a visually striking and conceptually rich experience.

THE NEW KATIMO SUMMER 2023 COLLECTION
Katimo presents soft, structured silhouettes made from natural fabrics, garments that stand on their own and combine effortlessly with one another. The emphasis is on the dress, from its variability and minimalism to its opulence. The collection includes six other dress styles, providing a range of outfits suitable for casual days to extravagant evenings. The focus of the collection is on water, its strength, wildness and tenderness, through the many ways it recalls feminine nature but the inspirations referencing summer; sun and sea as well as the materials used. The symbolic image of the fish appears repeatedly in the jewelry and printed silk scarves; Katimo donates part of the proceeds from the sale of these items to volunteers who provide drinking water, water purification tablets and water pumps to disaster-stricken populations in the Kherson region.

LOEWE MEN’S RUNWAY COLLECTION SS24
A study on perspective. On how points of view define perceptions and scales, and how perceptions and scales draw silhouettes. Dwarfed by Lynda Benglis’ gigantic, water-spouting fountains, attendees look at the catwalk from a wide angle, and from the bottom up, taken by a certain grandeur. At least, this is what the silhouette entices: legs are long, the waist is high, the bust becomes compact. Elongation, gesture and an exploration of fabrication turn the straightforward into something not so straightforward, the subtle into the bold. Blazers, coats, banker shirts, knitted polos, twin-sets, argyle knits, jeans and chinos are what the collection consists of. Such apparent plainness deceives the eye, but it is twisted and turned. Crystals swarm over entire surfaces, like filters, or meticulously drawn stripes and pinstripes. Gestural cuts turn the body into a construction. Shoes grow into trousers, giving the impression of cloth coming out of the ground. As ever for LOEWE, the power of the unexpected act turns things around.

DECHAMPS – HIGH TWIST COLLECTION
It is in Paris that Mirja and Camil launch their Franco-German brand “Dechamps”. Housed in the library of a renowned architect in the Marais, they were able to set up their atelier to entirely create the first collection “High Twist” by hand. Dechamps stands for an androgynous elegance that plays with the codes of the classic men‘s wardrobe. All garments are made to order in the parisian atelier. The accessories of the collection are made by craftsmen with an exceptional know-how: the silk scarves and leather goods are made in France, and the jewelry is made in Germany.

MORDECAI DEBUTS SS24 MENSWEAR COLLECTION
Born from an organic economic and commercial synergy between some of the leading players in the industry, Mordecai makes its debut with a transversal Spring/Summer 24 collection. The collections’ 20 distinct, layered looks, push boundaries of both function and form with approachable intent. Shapes of men’s wardrobe essentials like the hooded sweatshirt and buttoned jacket, along military cargos and martial arts inspired kimonos, morph through adjustable drawstrings, reversible elements, pleats and down filling. The result is unprecedented garments that border recognisable style but inhabit completely novel territory – a new canon of modern menswear informed by bodies, comfort and technique rather than trend, content and brand.

MONTBLANC | THE LIBRARY SPIRIT
Montblanc brought its latest collections to Paris Fashion Week, hosting a preview for media, influencers and VIP guests at Le Shack in the heart of the city. With its high shelves filled with books and cast-iron ladders, the choice of venue evoked the theme of the Maison’s latest global brand campaign, The Library Spirit. The campaign is an open invitation to experience the inspirational power of libraries around the world, highlighting the literary destinations that generate new ideas and spark imagination.

Last Week at Paris Fashion Week, in partnership with Cecilie Bahnsen, Dime, and HAL STUDIOS, ASICS presented three new iterations of its iconic SportStyle GT-2160 shoe. ASICS invited guests to a special pop-up event, an immersive digital installation with 4D-sound and an audio-visual experience that promoted movement and an uplifted mindset. Cecilie Bahnsen, a Danish womenswear designer, offers the shoes a timeless expression of modern femininity. Dime, a Montreal-based streetwear brand, brings an modernized and refreshing feel to the shoe’s 2000’s silhouette. Last but not least, HAL STUDIOS, a multi-faceted creative house, joined forces with ASICS to embrace the theme of drawing inspiration from the natural world, taking cues from the rugged and captivating landscapes found in glaciers worldwide. The three styles will be released in the coming months.

OLIVIA BALLARD SS24 COLLECTION
Olivia Ballard has just announced its upcoming show at Design Hotel’s new space ‘Slow, Flussbad’ at Rummelsburg in Berlin. The Berlin-based brand’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection is an exploration of the in-between towards materiality, of the division between the human model and the sculptural, between the runway and performance, and between set and model. For Olivia Ballard, this season is all about contemplation, slowness, and reinvention. She asks herself how the body can shape form, life, and individuality. Taking place on the 13th of July, the night will begin with a dinner reception and will be followed by the runway show.
