IDER consists of Megan Markwick and Lily Somerville, who met while studying Popular Music. The bachelor’s program seems to have paid off: the London-based duo have gone from their debut EP “Gut Me Like an Animal“ (2017) to over 212,000 monthly listeners on Spotify today. 

They’re known for their emotional, raw songwriting – as heard on their latest release “Late to the World“ (2025), a boldly confident album spanning a wide range of sounds and genres. The album was followed by a sold-out UK and European tour before IDER most recently supported the iconic Melanie Martinez.

They cite Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Nina Simone and Beyoncé as influences on their rich soundscape.

With their newest single “Fuck Without Feelings“, IDER offers an anthem that works as both a hymn and a middle-finger anthem for anyone who knows what it’s like when casual fun suddenly turns serious. “We wanted the song to sound energetic and life-affirming as we scream ‘Motherfucker’ at the same time. It felt incredibly relieving for us,” explains the British duo.

“No, I can’t fuck without feelings, never could pretend” puts into words what so many have felt before: the cold disappointment creeping in after you realize that sex without love just doesn’t hit the same.
